At the NMCA Valdosta, GA event it was another all Pro Systems final round in both Mean Street and Pro Stock. Jamie Stanton took the win over Steve Cagle and in Mean Street the #1 and #2 qualifiers Jeff Swanson and Gabe Large finished in the order they started the event. First and Second. Good work guys.
Eagle Racing’s Chad Hedgecock is really gunning for the Championship in the Quick 8 Outlaw series (www.quick8outlaws.com). Grabbing the win at the recent Jackson, SC event gives Chad and his 4.1 second Eagle powered, Pro Systems Split dominatored Camaro an almost insurmountable lead in the series.
Dennis Kline woke everyone up in IHRA Top Dragster competition. Qualifying number 2 at the IHRA Motor City Nationals at 6.56 @ 205 mph. That pass was with a single Pro Systems carburetor and only 598 c.i. Yeesh. Kind of embarrasses you if you have a Blown injected dragster doesn't it?
In SCCA A sedan competition, congratulations are in order for Phillip Smith who drove the Phil Harper motorsports powered (248.347.9258) entry to victory at the recent Gateway International event.
More SCCA news, in a limited 8 race schedule Tom Sloe has been a dominant force at racetracks in his Martin Shook owned Mustang. Grabbing four first place finishes (Nelson Ledges 5-29, BeaverRun 6-19, Road America Sprints 6-26, Indy Raceway Park 7-3) in only an 8 race schedule…
....resetting FIVE track records along the way. The Nelson Ledges, BeaverRun, Indy Raceway Park, Road America and Mid Ohio records now belong to Tom Sloe and his Pro Systems carbureted A-Sedan Mustang.
Championship Off Road racing saw a great event with plenty of action as Carl Renezeder swept Rounds 11 and 12 in Pro-2 competition at the BorgWarner World Championships. Crandon International Off Road Raceway hosted the event and the clean sweep by Team Renezeder enabled them to take over the division lead with two rounds remaining in the 2005 CORR Lucas Oil Series season. Check them out in last months showcase.
Congratulations to John Neciporchik who won the Top Sportsman Iron Man at the Dukes of Hazzard Nationals in Milan. John is the President of Roush Manufacturing. Every company should have a President
like John.
Brian Markiewicz continued his progression in NMCA Nitto Tire Super Street competition. Qualifying number one at the Cordova event and the recent Valdosta NMCA program. At Cordova he was flying scoring an impressive win at 7.46 seconds and an amazing 192 mph charge over Millen’s 7.67 at 189 mph effort. The Nelson Competition (727.321.5756) tuned
effort really is coming on strong in the NMCA.
NSCA rolled into Stanton last weekend and Johnny Baio with his Midwest Engine Tech powered Camaro surprised everyone as he rolled to the top of the pile in NPS with a fine 7.75 second blast.
Johnny met #2 qualifier Kevin "The Red Ball Express" Parent in the final and Kevin used his Lukovich powered Nova to get the win. Great job for both of these Pro Systems carbureted entries.
In Top Street the #1 and #2 qualifying spots were also Pro Systems carbureted. Randy Jewell took the number one spot and Dale Pittman debuted his freshly built 1963 Corvette in the #2 spot with almost a 205 mph charge!
In the final, Jewell had it all together and took the win over Pittman. These guys are gonna be an awesome race in Columbus!
Paul Mercure and Joe Aluise are fighting it out and are running 1 and 2 in the hotly contested Top Stock program. Both of these Pro Systems carbureted cars are expected to finish at the top of the heap in IHRA
competition once again this year, but who'll be at the peak is yet to be decided. But its gonna be close.
Already decided is the 2005 Australian Jet Sprint boat World Champion. Check out this months showcase for info on this years winner.
Bob Johnson out of Woodinville, WA continued his winning ways. Grabbing yet another Wally at the Mission Divisional Race in the Top Sportsman shootout and made a clean sweep of the Woodburn Event as well. He won both Super Comp on Saturday and Top Comp on Sunday!
Ben Carmon out of Cazenovia, NY is on a serious roll. He's won every event he's entered in the Central New York truck pulling association in this 2005 season. Check out the cool engine that powers his truck, you gotta love those headers!
