The SCCA June Sprints is the pre cursor to the National Runoffs. It sets the stage for who will likely be the baddest Road Racers in SCCA competition.
In qualifying, Phil Smith, who was driving a Chevrolet, used Phil Harper power (phmotorsports.com) to grab the number one spot with Tom Sloe qualifying number two. This gave Pro Systems Carburetors the number one and two spot for the race.
In the race our Pro Systems Development car driven by
Andy Mcdermid and using Felice power
(feliceracing.com) ended up victorious after a
hard crash by Tom Sloe in the late stages of the race.
Following his violent wreck, Tom Sloe proclaims he’ll be back! Tom’s Mustang currently holds the Record as the Fastest A/Sedan car in SCCA history with an average speed at Nelson Ledges of 99.4 mph.
Pro Systems carburetors still left the event with a 1-2 finish however as Phil Smith finished only a moment behind Andy McDermid.
It was the first outing of the year for the HMR prepared Mustang of Andy McDermid and he has a few things to sort out yet, so look for him to be a contender in the National Runoffs this fall.
At the JEGS NMCA Nationals Carl Rossler of Rossler
Transmissions ran a 6.665 pass at 210.11 mph in his 55
chevy to grab the win in Pro Street and in NMCA Pro
Stock Jamie Stanton also grabbed the win for our side
in his Chevelle at 8.81 seconds and 153.46 mph.
Great job guys!
