The 200 mph barrier falls.  NBC's Today Show anchor Matt Lauer got the drive of a lifetime.  Matt got the opportunity to operate the first 200 plus mph prop driven boat.  The Bacardi Silver, which is powered by two Sterling Performance engines was the first to break the flying Kilo 200 mph barrier.  At 202.90 mph it takes well over 3000 hp to propel a boat that fast.  During a Today Show interview the hatch was opened up to reveal the four specially developed Pro Systems dominator carburetors mounted atop the two supercharged Sterling power-plants.  Moments later Matt Lauer was behind the wheel of the Bacardi Silver boat, strapped into the F-15 style cockpit and drove the boat to speeds in excess of 167 mph!  Wow that guy has guts!

Speaking of guts, the Fastest Street car guys were at it again.  This time the NMCA folks tore it up at the Mid Michigan Motorplex in Stanton.  It was a fantastic show.

NX Nostalgia Pro Street qualifying and final rounds were a 1-2 finish for our side with Rob Golobo and Mike Foulk battling for top honors in qualifying.  First time finalist Kevin Parent runner upped at this event using a pair of carburetors I brought to the event for testing purposes.  They were never dynoed and to quote Kevin, “They were perfect right out of
the box”.  Kevin faced Golobo in the final round and made a good race out of it.  Thanks for the 1-2 guys.

Kevin Parent used Lukovich power to
make it to the final.

In Edelbrock Pro Nostalgia Jim Mackenzie showed the way with some custom built Pro Systems 4150's in qualifying and on raceday with Ol' Reliable and his W engine.

 A "W" engine a rare sight indeed.

In Moroso Hot Street, Rick Moroso debuted his late fathers 1961 Corvette in the number one position in the 8.8 second zone and ultimately the win.  Great debut Rick, you did your father proud.

In Real Street in Stanton, the Stanton Steamroller Jamie Stanton qualified on top and won the event.  If only I could've gotten Stanton in there one more time. See more on this car in our
"Showcasesection.  Its truly a well prepped vehicle and deserved of the win.

Congratulations to NMCA captain Tony Depillo, for not only putting on a great race, but for his recent SS/B World Record.  Tony gave up almost a certain final round victory at the U.S. Nationals to operate the NMCA event this weekend.  That’s dedication.  A special thanks to NMCA photographer Gary Wood for the great photos.

Hope to see you all at the NMCA National Trail Raceway event later this month!
