Well the new race seasons are off and running. It's our busy season so we're gonna make this quick. We don't have all our reports in but here's what we have heard.
Congrats goes out to Charlie Booze Jr. who is really stomping on the pedal this year. He showed up at Fun Ford weekend in Orlando and easily won the event in Street Bandit. Congrats to Kenny Compton for scoring the number one qualifying position at 8.89 seconds. However, on race day Charlie was solidly in the 8 second zone at over 150 MPH and was unstoppable.
The next week The Booze Brothers "Jugger-naut" showed up at the NMRA event, switched to a different Pro Systems carburetor for that series and won that event also over a hard charging Mike Curcio.
In Hot Street, Pro Systems carbureted all top 5 cars and everyone in the semis and the final rounds. It was the Charlie and Mike show in the final round and Mike Curcio was right there with a runner up score.
In NMRA Vic Williams brought the big Stick out for Pro 5.0. Must be everyone knew he was coming so no one really showed up. It probably wouldn't have mattered. His low 7 second passes were untouchable. Good work in the off season guys. I wouldn't have shown up either if I was the competition.
Congrats to Sam Vincent for fighting off the turbo guys to score a runner up in Super Street Outlaw.
Billy Glidden is back at it again in Fun Ford Racing. Billy was making passes in the low 7's. He qualified number one and won the event.
Glidden’s car is so fast he blows his OWN doors off!
Over in Australia the Trick and Mansweto guys really put down a number becoming the first car in the 8.5 second zone in Street Car competition (Aussies have stringent rules structures regarding street cars). That makes them the Worlds Fastest street car in Aussie Land. It’s a cool looking car for sure.
Good job everyone and thanks to www.accordclub.com and competitionplus.com for the photos. Both are great sites, stop in and take a look! Thanks for stopping in, we gotta get back to work.
